"Tears welled in her eyes, and Santos fought hard (and failed) to hold back the tide as they spilled over her cheeks. Stupid. She hated the feeling of crying, it served no purpose other than to flush out your eyes. It was just a stupid fluke of the stupid ridiculous human body. Even if one might argue that it was a function of releasing emotion, she would argue back that she had no weak emotions to flush out, so that was false. "
Santos has a terrible week. She hates the new year. She may not realize she has people on her team nowadays though.
