There was tension in her posture. A year ago, he would have reached over to massage her neck and tease her about all glorious ways he could relax her when they were alone, tangled in sheets atop her bed.
Now he didn’t know if he was even allowed to look at her.

To a Malfoy, reputation came first. Always. To be a Malfoy, was to hold your head up high, poised and dignified, even in the face of danger. His family was one descended from a long line of pureblood wizards, so the Malfoy name was not to be taken lightly.
Speaking of reputation, what just happened was an utter demolition of it.
As thought after thought continued to race through a bewildered Draco's mind, his gaze shifted to his hands. Instead of his long, pale, bony fingers, all he saw was fur. Fur. And that was when he panicked. It wasn't the world getting bigger around him, he was the one shrinking! He looked around at the tiny paws that were where his hands and feet were, put a hand up to his head, but felt just the same as he did all over. His silvery-blonde hair was gone, replaced with off-white fur. A rippling of laughter sounded throughout the grounds, and with a start, Draco realised that they were all laughing at him. After all, it wasn't everyday that a student got turned into a ferret!
A disturbed Draco Malfoy spends some time alone with his thoughts, and things take an unexpected, but much-hoped-for turn.
