Summary
The definition of hiraeth is most commonly translated as a longing for a home you can't return to, but Shouto has never really belonged to a home before. Instead, Shouto resonates more with the other definition - a longing for a home that was never yours, not necessarily a place of residence, but a home-like feeling such as love.
(Or Shouto had never quite understood what it meant when people said they were home until he moved into the UA dorms, acquired a boyfriend in Midoriya Izuku, was introduced to Midoriya Inko, and bought an apartment to live in together with Izuku.)
