Summary
Astarion, attacked in a dark alley, was brought back home by his siblings. A couple of days later, Cazador hosts one of his soirées and he will make sure that his disappointing Spawn remembers his place. But, tonight, some of the guests are painfully familiar to Astarion.
His companions have one thing in mind: to save him from Cazador's clutches before it can be too late. Astarion doesn't care for saviors though. Only one thing matters to him: for them to not see him like this.

I don’t think a handful of small birds will be enough to tide me over ‘til morning.”
He gets a sharp nip and a disgruntled squeak from his tiny passenger in response, though the cat lets out a loud trill that almost sounds like laughter.

Astarion looked up, squinting, and found a large elf waving at him from one of the stalls.
He blinked. “Me?” he mouthed, pointing at himself.
The elf nodded, smiling as he held out a jar of something golden.
“Some honey,” the elf said as Astarion drew closer. Oh, he was large. Taller and wider than Astarion could ever hope to be. His sun-kissed arms were corded and strong. “To sweeten your day.”

He’s breathless with panic, a vibrant ache in his chest as he scrambles for the dagger on his thigh. His shaky fingers close around the handle of it, nothing but muscle memory—but with neither sight nor hearing, it would do him little good. Armed or not, he was an impossibly easy target.
(Or, Astarion temporarily goes blind and deaf. It’s not fun.)
