Summary
Sebastian stood, making his stance firm, and blocked a Diffindo from his uncle. Now, it's my turn. He lifted his wand and made the precise movement from the spellbook, then began the incantation: "Avada Ked--".
A painful blast knocked the wind out of him, throwing him across the room. He hit his head hard, and could barely sit up, but he saw his attacker from across the room. She stood there, eyes glowing, hands helping her dictate her wants to the Ancient Magic. Did she attack me? How could she? “Why?” he called out to her, with his entire body throbbing. He began to sit up, with the intention to move to his feet, but she pressed one of her hands down into an invisible force, and Sebastian was unable to move.
“S-stay down, Sebastian. P-please.” Her voice broke, and she was trembling so intensely he could see it from across the room.

If Sebastian Sallow had been told on the first day of term that he would meet a girl who would save his life in countless ways, he wouldn’t have believed a word of it. But now he knew he owed her everything and more.

“It’s Sebastian,” You whispered, not wanting the words written in Anne’s beautiful but wobbly handwriting to be true. “They have decided what to do with him.”
Ominis seemed to know even before you spoke the words out loud.

Mrs Gaunt’s lofty brow raises. She lifts her head, stretches out that long, aged neck, and her black pebble eyes bore into the three of you in turn. The air boils. Somewhere in the house, the dying house elf has broken a dish. A sharpened nail drums a staccato tap-tap-tap rhythm on the rim of her glass. You squirm, feel her stare tear you to shreds and pick clean the bones. Suspicion, knowing, even, sharpens her tongue.
“All together, in the one house? Ominis, don’t you find yourself a little old to still be playing at housemates?"
