Summary
The pelt—it should seal his authority over this creature of magic. Instead, Morax is crumbling before those cerulean eyes. With a fortifying breath, he summons the power of the earth, of Geo and unbreakable rock, and when he reaches out, he is steady as stone. His hand is firm as he catches the man’s throat and yanks him up into a half-crouch.
“Give me your name,” he grits out, “or I will give you one myself.”
To command a fully realized selkie is to raise oneself higher than the gods.
In seeking an advantage in an endless war, Morax captures a selkie. And torn from his cozy home in the deepest of forests, Ajax is now fielding aggression from all sides, with no way out.

Summary
Exhaustion sweeps through him so strongly it almost brings him to his knees. He is rainsoaked. Drained not only by his battle and Osial but with the knowledge that he now holds a year’s worth of false memories, of lies and deceit.
He is so very tired.
“I’ve met two Archons,” he mumbles to the statue, “and I do have to ask. Are you all so cavalier with your pawns?”
The loss of the Geo gnosis awakens Zhongli’s latent instincts. Childe is left to deal with the fallout of it.

Summary
Zhongli smiles at Childe as he approaches. His cigarette dangles from his fingers, but he makes no move to light up, not yet. “Need a break from it all?”
His smile sets Childe’s stomach aflutter. His mind feels hazy, good, and he flicks his gaze away from Zhongli’s face only to look back a moment later. Kaeya’s lighter bites into his hand as he turns it over once, twice, until he thinks his voice will be steady.
“Yeah,” he says, and he’s proud to note that his voice does not waver.
Childe approaches Zhongli at a party. Things go from there.

Summary
The crowd parts for him like water, and it takes mere minutes for Zhongli to find the man from before. This close, he is more youth than man, lean yet well-formed. He clearly doesn’t belong. His suit is wrinkled and ill-fitting. His ginger hair is untamed. His movements are jerky, like he is prey. Like he is unfamiliar with his own body.
He startles as Zhongli places a hand on his shoulder. Up close, his eyes are lightless, blown wide by innocence and fear. His mouth parts on a gasp. No warmth seeps from his body.
“Are you lost?” Zhongli asks, pitching his voice low.
The appearance of a newly turned vampire is both alarming and strange, and Zhongli is determined to discern the meaning of his presence.

Summary
It’s taken him several months of being back in Snezhnaya to fully realize what plagues him so. He’s homesick. Homesick for the drowsy warmth of Liyue. For its unfrozen lakes, its sandy shoals. For Xiangling’s cooking.
He misses the lazy evenings with Zhongli. Misses trading tea for baiju at the Third Round Knockout as they drink down whatever tale is told that night. He misses Zhongli’s cluttered, chaotic apartment and the space he’s carved there for himself.
Back at Zapolyarny Palace, Childe mourns the better days in Liyue. Zhongli offers him a reprieve from the endless meetings.

Summary
“Talk to me,” he pleads one night, curving his body around Childe’s as the stars blink down at them from the window. “Tell me what ails you.”
Childe shifts closer, resting his head on Zhongli’s chest. His voice is low, raspy. “It is not your burden to bear.”
“We are mates,” Zhongli tells the night sky, wrapping his arms around Childe’s lithe frame. “Your burdens are mine.”
After his trip to Fontaine, Childe is aloof and listless. Zhongli attempts to settle him.

Summary
Thoughtfully, he taps his nails on the desk. He doesn’t look up as the door swings open, as Childe fills the tiny room of his office with the scent of his arousal, sweet as honey.
“I’m busy, baobei,” he says absently.
Zhongli is busy, but not too busy to pay attention to Childe.

Summary
The door flies open. Zhongli stares at him, eyes a bit wild. He hasn’t changed out of his day clothes, and the gold thread on his robes shimmer and dance with every minute movement. For a moment, they both look at each other.
Then Childe blinks. “Can I come in?” he asks, a bit helplessly, lifting a bloodstained hand as if to show it off.
Zhongli does not say anything, but he opens the door wider and steps aside.
Injured and bloody, Childe shows up at Zhongli’s doorstep after months of distance.

Summary
Zhongli accepts the bun from Childe, but before he takes a bite, he pauses. Frowns.
“What’s wrong?” Childe asks, mouth full of strawberry pastry.
When Zhongli speaks next, his voice is too even, too calm. “Perhaps I may have forgotten to bring my tea.”
While visiting Snezhnaya on official business, Zhongli forgets to pack tea. What happens next leads to Childe ending up on Mars. The planet.

Summary
“Beautiful,” Zhongli breathes, and Childe knows better than to protest. Within the bounds of their home, their play, he is Zhongli’s, and if Zhongli insists he is so, Childe will not deny it. With a gloved hand, Zhongli caresses his nipple—just for a heartbeat, a whisper of contact—before dragging his hand down, down. He strokes across the mass of scars that litter Childe’s ribs. He brushes a thumb against the sweep of Childe’s hips, then gently wraps those elegant fingers around his cock.
With the gloves, he’s not necessarily warm, but the friction against his erection has Childe whimpering, bucking into his hand, chasing an echo of warmth that is exquisite and sweet.
“Pet,” Zhongli murmurs.
Childe needs to forget his troubles. Zhongli is happy to assist.

Summary
He cracks open the suitcase.
A small brown creature tumbles out.
It is a bit smaller than the messenger-raccoon that accosted him early in his hike, with a tail like that of Zhongli’s exuvia. Its eyes are golden, dreadfully familiar, and as it looks up and squeaks in indignation Childe leaps back.
“Zhongli?” Childe asks cautiously.
Childe is assigned to go on a short mission. Zhongli is not happy about it, and takes matters into his own hands—paws.

Summary
“I have never…done anything,” Childe says carefully.
“You’ve told me so,” Zhongli says, peering down at the creature of beauty and war in his arms. “I never minded.”
“I want to try.”
Zhongli knows Childe’s relationship with touch and sex is tremulous at best. When Childe asks for help experimenting, Zhongli obliges.

Summary
The air is so cold it steals his breath. The efforts of his exhales are visible in the low light, and Morax swallows, ill at ease.
He kneels, bowing his head, and waits.
Finally, Death clicks her tongue, and he lifts his head to gaze upon her for the very first time. Frosted hair frames silver eyes, shrewd and depthless. Curls tumble over her shoulders like rivers. Razor-sharp shards of ice drip from her dress and refreeze into a writhing puddle at her feet.
“Speak,” she says, and her voice is wind chimes and sorrow and elation.
Having not seen or heard from Ajax in far too long, Morax embarks on a journey to find him.

Summary
“Is the story not interesting enough, Monsieur?”
The book is one of Neuvillette’s; one of the many light novels that he’s collected over the past years, hoarding books like a human would hoard wealth.
The title in Neuvillette’s hand—A Journey of Love—follows a couple’s endeavors while on their honeymoon in Mondstadt, drunk off wine, new food, and a country escape. It’s tasteful, yet just as cliché. The dialogue is average at best, but they’ve enjoyed reading aloud to each other well enough to let it pass. In Wriothesley’s mellow tone especially, Neuvillette finds himself entranced.
On a quiet evening, Neuvillette and Wriothesley take the time to indulge in each other’s company.

Summary
A river of russet and black spills onto his lap—it’s soft, exquisitely so. Despite being a cursed gift from Winter, the pelt is warm beneath his hands, and in a moment of weakness, Zhongli holds the thing to his cheek, delighting in the feel of it.
Common sense is cold, and he lowers the fox’s pelt. This…is not a companion. Not even close! Still, to spurn a gift from an Archon is to be a fool, so when he goes to sleep that night, as a human would, he tucks the pelt into its golden box and places it into his closet.
In a Liyue where Zhongli retires alone, he is lonely and adrift. Even the strange gift the Cryo Archon sends him is not quite enough to alleviate his boredom, until a knock at his front door changes everything.

Summary
Angels do not lie, and so Morax does not speak when Ajax asks if he finds him comely. He does not protest, either, when Ajax steps into his space. When Ajax leans close and Morax can feel the heat radiating off him, when Ajax spreads his leathery wings just enough to make Morax feel like there is nobody else in the world but them, and that they are not tucked into a side street behind a building of blinding light.
A demon breaks through the heavenly bounds with eyes only for Morax, and Morax finds himself too weak to resist its unholy temptation.

Summary
“Xiansheng,” Childe says, and although his voice is soft, it cracks Zhongli’s soul, sending shards spinning in the light. “It’s always been you who hasn’t wanted—more. This is…” He blows out a breath, and it washes over Zhongli, warm and lulling. “Are you still rational?”
“Yes.” Faint. He prepares for his heart to shatter, for Childe to deliver the final blow.
“Do you want me to leave? Truly?”
Distress claws at him, sinking squalid claws into the soft part of his soul, and before he can fully process his own movements, Childe’s wrist is trapped under his hand, and his claws—oh, his claws—dig into soft flesh.
Childe helps Zhongli through a heat.

Summary
“I’m not sure,” Sedene says. “But he got overwhelmed today. The trials were…a lot.”
“Overwhelmed?”
“Chirp,” says the thing that is Neuvillette.
Sedene nods.
“The Iudex of Fontaine got overwhelmed,” Wriothesley says, his voice flat.
In his hand, Neuvillette rotates an eye—just one, the one closest to Wriothesley—and very slowly, very deliberately, clamps his mouth down onto the tip of Wriothesley’s finger.
Sedene brings a rather small version of Neuvillette home one day.

“You’re beautiful, you know,” Kaveh says, his voice low. It’s not a question, so Alhaitham does not reply, but he shifts, straining against the lovely knots that cradle him so.
“I mean it, Alhaitham.”
Gentle hands on his face, stroking, caressing. A thumb on his cheek, sweeping below his eye. A soft touch to his nose.
Kaveh teaches Alhaitham how to let go.

Summary
Against his back, Neuvillette presses into him. At his front, the fire warms his face, his nose. They’re in nothing but thin shirts, no pants, and Neuvillette’s purrs don’t let up as he presses his cheek into the curve of Wriothesley’s shoulderblade.
It’s soothing. Relaxing. They have nowhere they have to be; there is nothing they have to do. It’s just them, the fireplace, and their hard-earned vacation.
Neuvillette and Wriothesley indulge in each other’s company after an exhausting day in the snow.
