Summary
As a child, you were a bit of a loner. Part by choice, part by your inability to find someone to connect with, given you were an outsider-- not from the Undercity. Just when you think you’re destined to be that way forever, you meet an aloof, tough, young girl who flips your world upside-down, but in the best way.
Through your teenage years, you and Sevika start your own little revolution against Topside, and the two of you inevitably become closer and closer. Once you finally realize there’s possibly something more there than just friendship, you find yourself ripped away from everything you’ve grown to care about– from her.
When you return decades later, a full-grown woman with an understanding of those feelings you’d had for Sevika, you’re not sure what exactly to expect when you go looking for her. You only hope that she’ll accept you back into her life in one way or another.

Summary
Janessa is not a good doctor. In truth, she's not a doctor at all. She knows some first aid, home remedies, and old wives' tales. It was all knowledge she'd scraped together in her mispent youth. Her treatments weren't really any better than any other Zaun doc's snake oil potions, but she has just enough arcane power to give them a little boost, so she has no trouble getting patients. She is happy to treat anyone who comes to her door. Zaunites have few medical options, and she's glad to be able to help, even in her small way.
But medical treatment, simple though it may be, is something the wrong crowd often needs more than most. Word gets around, and chemthugs start showing up at her door for stitches and sedatives when they're hopped up on shimmer. They are her worst patients. Rude, impatient, and sometimes violent. Janessa needs a solution to her growing problem. But maybe making a deal for protection will cause even more issues for the quiet healer. Especially if that protection comes with a price she can't pay and responsibilities beyond what she is capable of providing.
