Summary
Kaveh wishes he had pursued a different career.
He doesn’t mean that. Not really.
He loved being an architect. Getting to be artistic, to be able to create without limits. To be passionate.
But, Archons, if he didn’t feel like he was being stabbed. He was stubborn. When he got an idea, he worked and worked and overworked until his vision was fulfilled and perfect. Always perfect. He wouldn’t accept anything less. Everyone knew that, no matter how hard Alhaitham and Tighnari tried to get him to take breaks, he always protested. The pain was just part of the creative process, as he liked to say. It just sucked when the pain happened to linger after the creation mentioned was done.

Kaveh has chronic pain in his hands. Alhaitham is very observant and gentle. Comfort ensues.

Summary
“I hate you.”
It’s a string of words Alhaitham has heard a number of times from Kaveh, but it never stopped the initial pain he felt when he heard it. He couldn’t prevent these fights, Archons above only know how much he’s tried, but it’s like Kaveh sought them out. It’s like he craved these abusive relationships. Maybe he did.
OR: Kaveh splits again. This time, Alhaitham's not sure he can deal with it alone.

Summary
“Do you mean to tell me,” Kaveh hisses. “That I got hit by a ley line and got cat ears?”
“Lion ears,” Alhaitham corrects, dispelling the mirror. He seems remarkably unfazed by all of this, blinking curiously at Kaveh’s new appendages. “You seem to be in possession of a tail as well.”
A ley line accident leaves Alhaitham and Kaveh with snow leopard and lion features, respectively. As they wait for the effects to (hopefully) wear off, they realize the ley line might have had some effects that go beyond changes to their physical appearance...
In other words, Alhaitham figures out he can purr, but only when Kaveh is touching him. Cuddling for purely scientific reasons (and totally nothing more) ensues.
