The disbelief in Adam’s laugh quickly grounded him. “Do it for you!” he said, “Some of us have homework, you know.”

Summary
The first time Adam speaks the words out loud, it’s under the cover of night. Their legs tangle beneath the sheets and softly, more than a whisper but barely, just barely, he breathes out a quiet, “I love you,” against the cusp of Ronan’s ear. His smile is unmistakable even though Ronan can’t see it; a lazy, satisfied stretch of his mouth, his look of genuine satisfaction with all of this.

These were the words that started it all. Adam hadn’t thought anything of it when they’d been said, it all seemed pretty casual. Hell, he didn’t even expect Ronan to go through with it, he’d figured it was a toss-away suggestion they would both forget about and never speak of again.
After all, why would Adam need to punch someone when he’s got Ronan for that? Why risk himself, or his precious hands, when he has a hired bodyguard to do it for him?

It’s astounding, how easy of a time Adam has bending the other man to his will. Judging from looks alone, one would think Ronan is difficult. He is, in other ways, but not when it comes to this, not when sex is involved. Apparently, all it takes to tame the feral bastard is an erection and an inclination for giving orders. Adam stands at the bedside table, slouched forward, wearing only a thin t-shirt and boxer briefs. His somewhat broad shoulders, tapering into a much slimmer waist, block whatever it is he’s looking at, but Ronan doesn’t need to see. Only one thing wasn’t there before this morning and, at the realization, red-hot embarrassment spreads from his cheeks all the way up to his ears.
“Uh, ears,” Ronan replies casual-like, turning his back to Adam to pick through his dresser. He doesn’t need anything, but it’s the only way he can think of to hide his blush. “Cat ears, I guess.”
