Summary
"Officer." Rumi’s voice cut clean through the sterile air of the morgue as she approached, eyes narrowing at the sight of him where she least wanted him to be.
"Detective." Jinu turned around to greet her, a spark of mischief tugging at his lips, her annoyance exactly the welcome he’d been waiting for.

“Right.” Rumi exhaled after calming down enough. “The schedule. I want you in the library between 5 and 7 p.m. every weekday after class.”

"What the fuck." Jinx said, in a tone that wasn't really a question, eyeing the script in her hands with anger.

Summary
It wasn't a car crash. It wasn't a stab to the chest, it wasn't a fall from a skyscraper, and it wasn't a fall from her office window, no matter how much she'd pondered on the idea.
Her heart was fine. Perfectly fine despite the foreign liquids of various colors she'd gulped down that evening. Her mind had been cloudy, sure, but the world was always a bit hazy for her, anyway.
What did it for her, what killed Jinx of all things in Zaun, was seeing a familiar, sharp gaze in the crowd: two warm, brown orbs looking at her with the same tenderness she remembered from years ago.
