When their fingers brushed as she handed her wet dishes to him, Yor had to fight the urge to snatch her hand away. Her eyes would immediately lock onto the dish she was washing as she felt her face heat up. Part of her wished to just let her hand rest there, to intertwine her fingers with his. Though, she couldn’t fathom doing something so embarrassing. She could hardly look his way afterwards, too afraid he’d notice her reddening face.

Summary
Nightmares seemed to be a common occurrence within the Forger residence. If it weren’t his own nightmares jolting him from his sleep, he could sometimes hear a muffled cry coming from Yor or Anya’s room. Anya would normally wake one of them up if it was too scary for her, but he never helped Yor through hers— It always felt like a step too far, something he would be unable to take back, something that could change them forever.
Or, Yor and Loid help each other sleep.

She still had nightmares of being covered in blood from head to toe, nearing death with no end in sight. Summary
He laid in bed many nights, wondering what he would do if the cold war ended. Would he still work as a spy? Would they still need him? He could become a family man, but he only knew how to act the part, not actually be one. Becoming a “real” family man meant telling Yor and Anya the truth and he wasn’t sure they would forgive him. He wouldn’t forgive someone like him. The lies alone were unforgivable and their relationship was built off a false persona. Loid wasn’t real, just a catered version to fit into the family he was given.

He couldn’t quite explain it, but he was intrigued by Thorn Princess. He completed his mission as required and he could definitely use some sleep. However, something drew him toward the woman before him and he wished he could share at least one dance with her. Twilight rarely indulged in his desires, perhaps he deserved it just this once.
He stepped towards her and she eyed him curiously. If he looked closely, he’d see that a smile was playing at her lips.
“Well— While they’re cleaning up, would you like to share a dance with me out there?”

Yor saw the slightest hint of a smile as he eyed her again. His eyebrows were lifted and his eyes were wide. She felt prideful that she could coax such emotions out of him, ones that she’d never seen him do for other people. If she looked closely, she could see the slightest red flush on his cheeks and ears.

His sleeves were rolled up as well and his hair slightly mussed from the demands of the day, in the low light of her room she felt grateful that she was the only one to see him like this right now.

Summary
Somehow, someway the Forger family managed to survive the relentless tides of their lives. It seemed unachievable for a very long time, each of them frozen with fear if one were to find out their true identity. The fear at the beginning stemmed from losing a job they were good at and being removed from the only life they knew. In Anya’s case, she knew her ability was a curse, everyone who found out told her so. Slowly, but surely as the years passed, the fear inside of them transformed into fear of losing their family. Facade or not to begin with, after several years it would become impossible not to grow attached to the happy little family the Forgers created.
In which the Forgers reminisce on how their identities were revealed.
