Summary
Something goes wrong. The crown is split during Narinder's defeat, splitting the power between him and the Lamb.
Narinder keeps a portion of his godhood, and the Lamb finds that abilities they had access to before are no longer possible: Healing is cut short. Powers are halved. And there is a very real chance of permadeath, as the ability to resurrect is not possible without full power, and the God of Death is not cooperative.
Afterlife and Purgatory are not options either. Dying means erasure. Gone.Lambert knows Narinder grows stronger by the day, crown or not, and yet keeps him spared as they try to figure out how to complete their own goals. Narinder vows vengeance on the lamb for usurping him. After a few unsuccessful murder attempts, he's in for the long haul. It is only a matter of time before the Lamb's guard is down before he can strike, and The One Who Waits is very patient. When a mystic being demands they save the bishops from purgatory, an alliance is in order.
Except...the lamb's actions and their presence begin to unlock abilities within the God of Death he didn't know he had prior to his imprisonment, among other fickle things, like emotions. The prophecy didn't warn him of that part.

Does anyone know Lance is in love with Keith?
Of course not. And Lance would very much like to keep it that way, thank you! Keith already doesn't want anything to do with him ever since coming back from that space whale; the last thing Lance needs on top of his crumbling self-worth and shaky standing in the team is a rejection that shatters his heart in pieces, too.
But now, Lance got himself in a bit of a pickle. Which is fine, because Lance has a plan to get out of it! A wonderful, brilliant, masterful, completely fool-proof plan. His team won't look at him like he's more incompetent than they already do, he won't have to spend the rest of his life trapped on some alien planet, and Keith will never find out just how head over heels he is for him. It's a win-win-win situation.
Of course, with Keith, things are never quite so simple, and Lance's plan soon causes a domino effect that changes the entire course of his life.

Maybe Lance should have been a little more specific when he said he'd do anything to get home. Because now...

It’s loud. It’s wild. It’s a lot to digest and Keith is sure it’s going to be even crazier tomorrow—what, with all the gift giving, and Christmas caroling, and eggnog drinking.
But… for some reason, he doesn’t think he’ll mind.

PHANTASIA. The Greek word phantasia is usually translated "imagination." However, in Greek thought, the word always retains a connection with the verb phainomai, "I appear." It can be used to refer both to the psychological capacity to receive, interpret, and even produce appearances and to those appearances themselves.
The team find themselves on a water planet while carrying out diplomatic duties. Lance is shown how to unlock the latent abilities of the Blue Paladin, the Guardian Spirit of water, one of which is telepathy. He decides to have a little fun with his new found skill, but in the process finds himself in an awkward situation. Well, more than one.

Lance frowned, biting his lip and hoping that an idea would come out of nowhere. Then it hit him.
It was crazy, but it might just work.
He looked at Keith and felt his heartbeat pick up. In the dark of the room, he could see his silhouette. The dark mop of hair, the pale color of his skin, and the almost glowing purple hues of Keith’s eyes practically drew him in.
