“I threw water on you.”
He tries to blink away the brain fog. “Okay, and why did you do that?”
“You passed out! I thought you died!” Carlos says frantically, climbing off him, reaching a hand to help him sit up. “Again.”
“So you decided to drown me and finish the job?”

Summary
TK couldn’t control the new things that leaked onto the market. He couldn’t control the uptick of overdoses. He couldn’t control the response time, or the time before they got the call, or even the number of times the patient was gone before they could find them. He couldn’t control if they woke up, no matter what they tried or did.
What he could control was how they woke up.
