When Batman introduces Superman as his partner during an investigation to Jim Gordon, it sets off a chain: one hero firmly rooted in definition #1, and the other completely convinced of definition #2.
What starts as a simple misunderstanding, it leads to a start of something more. With Gotham’s finest taking it all in stride.

Because whatever is happening between them—it shouldn’t. Bruce pushes, searching for the language he can’t bring himself to say aloud, while Clark whispers what he shouldn’t confess at all: I can’t. A vow binds him to the Church, but his heart betrays him in every secret meeting, every glance held too long.
It shouldn’t work. It can’t work. But it does. And as much Clark Kent prays, temptation seeps through.
