Summary
After offering him a place to sleep when he had nowhere else to go, the Public Library of May earns a repeat patron from the legendary Vash the Stampede, who’s drawn to the librarian’s open heart and peaceful life. After an idyllic few weeks, Vash’s past catches up with him, as it ever shall; in the crater he leaves behind, the librarian makes a decision that unwittingly lands him in the clutches of his brother, Knives, who’s highly interested in his bond with Vash coupled with his surprising cynicism towards the nature of humanity. Just as Knives aims to use the librarian as an ideological soundboard, a chisel against his brother’s ironclad bleeding heart, the librarian is determined to feel his way through the psychological, philosophical thorntunnel he’s been thrust into.
Something is /very/ wrong with Knives, and the librarian's fatal curiosity leads him deeper.

“I doubt anything that comes out of… here can beat what I can find at the capital.” Taliferro made a face, and right as those words left his lips the farmer had appeared, looking to the ‘challenge’ board, and as if some signal or wave had gone out people backed up and away and the two looked at each other.
The farmer stared and just then clouds passed overhead, over the sun and it got awful cold, and terribly blue before the manor. A leaf, parted from a tree whips and spirals between the two men.
“Are you saying my crops aren’t any good?”A succession of Saturdays between the farmer and Taliferro. Zero to four hearts. Two men and their pride.

Summary
The main fic, 'May City Public Library', and whatever side-content I decide to put out, probably mostly non-canon nsfw bits. Maybe alternate endings...
Main series is 'slowburn to whump' starting as Vash making multiple visits to a soft-spoken, neurotic librarian with notably sharp perception and an admirably open heart, despite everything he knows, despite everything building he swan dives into almost a life with him, and Wolfwood, but everything comes crashing down when his past and his nature inevitably rears its head and the librarian's life is permanently changed and ripped straight off its hinges.
