The Ashen Demon’s gaze goes from the Blade Breaker to Shez; the Blue Lions, before finally, Dimitri. His face does not move, giving nothing of his thoughts; still water beneath moonlight hid too much beneath its surface.
“I suppose we could use a fresh start.”
Despite the agreement in those words, Dimitri has a sense - some instinct - that the Demon dislikes their reassignment.
“Dangerous,” father whispers; who better to warn Dimitri about betrayal.
But he has nothing to go off but silly instinct and the words of a waking nightmare, so he welcomes the two for the skilled warriors they are.
A king leads with logic after all, not petty emotion.
