'Here, allow me,' The Guide removed one of her gloves, and then leaned forward, extending her hand. She gently ran a finger along the corner of Nadja's lips, collecting the blood that had been smeared there.
The woman's touch was as light as a feather, and rather slow for one who was trying to help clean up. As her finger connected with the corner of her fellow vampire's mouth to collect the blood, she hesitated. Her hand stopped, but did not move away from her. Then, she looked up.
Directly into Nadja's waiting, piercing eyes.

'Guillermo! I command you to stop this sulking at once and open this door!'
Nandor was pressed against the door, calling into the room. His hand was on the doorknob, but he made no effort to use his supernatural strength to force it open. Marwa stood at his side, gripping his elbow anxiously.

That is, until Guillermo finds something in the attic that makes her past catch up with her. No, she wasn’t free. She’s been running. Now, there’s nowhere to hide, but maybe she doesn’t have to do it alone this time. Maybe there is forgiveness for a creature like her.
