“I have,” Satoru repeats slowly, “a boyfriend.” He doesn't break eye contact, even as he removes the phone from his ear and shoves it into the pocket of his jacket in one smooth motion. Then he strides over.
Suguru blinks once, twice, and forces himself to regain his composure. “Didn’t know you had a boyfriend,” he says. “Does he tolerate you for more than five minutes at a time?”
“I don’t,” Satoru replies, his confidence unwavering. “Suguru, will you do me a favor?”
“What?”
“Pretend to date me.”
“What.”

Summary
The words have been written for forever, just above Gavin’s collarbone where the edge of a scar peeks out from under his shirt collar.
When people asked, he could say yeah, yeah, it’s just a tattoo he got for himself, because he’s a narcissistic asshole, yeah, his real soulmate tattoo is somewhere else-- “Like on my dick,” he’d said to the last person who asked, and they scoffed and walked away when he waggled his eyebrows.
His name. His own fucking name, is the last thing he'd hear from the person supposed to be the love of his life. Gavin can lie to himself that he doesn’t care, that it doesn’t affect him, but the quotation marks that stare back at him in the mirror say otherwise.

Summary
In his lifetime, Gavin Reed learns to hate many things. Elijah Kamski is homeschooled, arrogant, a nerd, a prick, a dumbass, a whiny bitch, and everything else Gavin can think of. The problem is, Elijah is also his first friend, and the Kamskis are his first real family.
The same year Elijah graduates from university, Gavin drops out of sophomore year. Elijah moves out of state to build a tech company, and Gavin gives up. He almost doesn’t move from his parents’ couch, just to eat food and go to work.
Gavin’s first encounter with the police involves the back alley of a bar, a cat, and some assholes.

He thought he’d only have to introduce himself once to someone he called his best friend. It’s strange to repeat words from more than a decade ago to the same person. “You can call me Satoru.” He hopes he calls him Satoru.
“I’m Geto,” he says back. You were Suguru to me, Gojo thinks. “Nice to meet you, Satoru.”
“Nice to meet you, too.” He leans against the wall beside him, tries to look nonchalant as he does. “So, do you come here often?”
Geto thinks Gojo is just a lonely guy who wants friends. Gojo just wants to know if he remembers him, even just a little bit.
