Summary
Therion stared at Cyrus with a dark levity that felt like it was pinning Cyrus to his chair as he said, “Death would be pleasant compared to what causes the gods to notice you. You don’t want a divine skill, trust me.”
Cyrus swallowed, throat feeling dry as he asked the question he knew Therion was expecting, “What could be worse than death?”
“Losing everything that ever mattered to you.” Therion answered, voice dark, “Losing your will to live, thinking you will die,” Therion continued, stalking towards Cyrus, “Losing that which you thought you would have forever,” Therion crowded into Cyrus’ space, looming over him and forcing him to look up at his green eyes that were sharp as daggers as he stated, “Losing hope.”
Divine skills are a rare gift from the gods given only to those a god finds worthy. After learning one of his companions has been blessed with one, Cyrus decides to investigate what exactly leads to a god giving someone a divine skill. But the answers he seeks come with unexpected trials.

It had been burning ember and oak that eventually drove him out, profuse smoke that billowed from crumpled houses flooded his senses while pitched screams and blubbering sobs were muffled by the roar of the crackling fire. The flames threatening to lick his skin when Tommy had initially tried to get into the half-burnt crisp that was the home he, Tubbo and Ranboo had resided in, recognising the half scorched scarves crumpled in front of the house, the doormat – once an ugly purple with some cheesy message on it – charred and the house nearly unrecognisable.

Summary
A dragonstone sits in his hand, the size of a red apple.
“Therion.”
He closes his eyes, letting out a deep sigh. The sooner he gets out of Northreach, the better. There’s nothing for him here, nor was there ever. Even if Therion is aware a night of rest is necessary, he doesn’t want to do it here. Logically, they won’t make it out of the Frostlands in a night, not this far north. Sleeping outside is tantamount to suicide in the cold. A warm fire won’t keep eight people alive, huddled in a cave together under thick blankets. Therion can’t do that to the others—not when he’s finally started to trust them.
Maybe even call them his friends, if he’s in the mood to humor himself.
