“Parker, normal people don’t need to have squeaky hinges in order to not startle their partners at 12:24 in the morning.” Eliot whisper-yelled back.
“Why are you whispering? Hardison is still up playing his elf game.” Parker frowned.
Eliot sighed. He pointed at the sink, currently overflowing with bubbles. And in the midst of all of them… “A cat!” Parker exclaimed, immediately stepping further into the bathroom.

Tommy had never known a relationship like his with Evan. It was real, in a way he hadn’t been able to achieve with other partners. There was no hiding, for himself or Evan. They were honest with each other, sometimes brutally so.
So there was no reason for Tommy to believe Evan was anything other than sicker than a dog when he canceled on their standing “we’re both off on a Friday night” date night, even if his text had been vague and not really mentioned the word “sick”.

Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.
(or, gerrard messes with the team's schedules and eddie 'i just drove my son to flee the state' diaz is the only option to watch mara and jee-yun after school on tuesdays, which, shouldn't be a problem at all, right?)
