Summary
“You’re just so annoying,” she groaned. “You need to eat something and drink medicine so you won't get dizzy.”
She tried to get up to help her recover from her hangover, but Sandrone felt a gentle tug on her night dress and she couldn’t help but pause in her tracks and wait for Columbina to explain herself. “...I’m fine, just stay with me here. I like it when you’re close.”
Her words never failed to ignite something within her chest, but Sandrone swallowed her emotions as she replied weakly, “...Fine. Anything to shut you up.”
Curiosity was an edge in her profession. In order to confront the truths of the world, one must be courageous enough to ask the question why. For the longest time, Sandrone told herself that the strange feeling in her core whenever Columbina was around was simply a manifestation of that, and yet, with each passing day they spent, she kept finding more evidence suggesting otherwise.
(or, how Sandrone, in the process of understanding her annoying coworker, also learned more about herself.)

Summary
…How beautiful. She ought to smile more like that, it suits her well.
Columbina blinked at that, her words trapped in her throat as the woman’s thoughts continued, relentless, as they caught her off-guard.
I’m really worried about her, but I’m sure she’ll be fine. She’s tougher than she looks.
“Oh, um, have we met before?” she found herself asking, bewildered.
For a brief second, the woman appeared taken aback by her question, before she schooled her features back to indifference as she answered with a raised eyebrow and a scowl. “Obviously not. Now, enough with this chitchat and go home before the rain gets more intense.”
Columbina, through eyes that reflected people’s inner thoughts, knew that greed was often masked behind sweet, tempting words. Over the years, she decided to always avoid their gaze to keep the incessant noises from forming in her head. But then, she met Sandrone, and for the first time in a very long while, she found herself unable to look away.
(or, how Columbina, in spite of herself, fell in love with a liar.)

Summary
“Drink more slowly,” the engineer chided her, and yet her tone remained soft. Her hand found its way back to Columbina’s thigh and she couldn’t help but stare at her in confusion, unsure why her beloved was violating every tea party etiquette she had always rigidly abided by ever since the day the goddess first barged into her room hundreds of years ago.
“...Sandrone, you seem a bit off today,” she said, her head tilting slightly, perplexed, as she scanned Sandrone’s expression closely. “Did something go wrong during maintenance?”
The engineer placed her teacup down and shook her head fondly. She chuckled at her question, and the goddess couldn’t help but wonder why she was acting this way.
It had been two months since Sandrone and Columbina officially got together. Wanting to become a better lover, Columbina decided to visit the hidden dwelling after her maintenance, making sure she was okay while doing a sweet gesture for her. However, as soon as she arrived, she could immediately tell that something was amiss.
(or, how Columbina faced Sandrone’s internal anomalies.)

Summary
“Do you…” she found herself starting again, before hesitating, because it was of no consequence to her, and Sandrone always followed logic more than anything else. But she was so curious, her gears halting and then erratically speeding up in a pattern she didn’t recognize. She needed to ask, if only to ebb this uneasy and vulnerable feeling away. “...Do you also stay in her room like you do with mine?”
Columbina stopped eating, surprised by the question. She had no idea about the suffocating feeling in Sandrone's chest that accompanied her as she waited for her answer in a bated breath. “No,” she eventually replied. “I only stay in your room, I feel most comfortable here with you.”
Sandrone was a clockwork doll, and Columbina was a moon goddess. Both were living solitary lives before they met, both unable to experience emotions the way ordinary humans could. Yet, somehow, their paths converged and the foundations of everything Sandrone thought she knew crumbled to the ground.
(or, how Sandrone and Columbina learned about love through the centuries.)

Summary
"To Alicent, Rhaenyra had been her introduction to having a confidant so close you could trust them with your soul. And yet, that’s something she had never quite allowed herself to have. They had grown together and yet apart, never allowed to linger for too long on growing feelings.
To Rhaenyra, Alicent had been her introduction to the tastes of her heart. Her first girlfriend in university had long brown hair and big doe eyes. Back then, she had insisted on there not being a single resemblance to someone she had known.
Today, as she jogs behind her to catch Alicent on her way to the village, naturally falling into her step, and allowing herself to take her profile in entirely, she imagines going back in time and shaking her past self, forcing her to see the truth. It would have perhaps gained her a few years of this.
“You’re staring, Rhaenyra.” Alicent says, biting back a smile.
Now is never too late, she realizes."
or,
Rhaenyra runs to a small village to escape her obligations, hoping to find peace and calm to inspire her inner artist. Alicent has a similar idea.
There, they find their home.

Summary
“You’re staring.”
“Just thinking, my princess.”
Rhaenyra turned sideways, moving into a position that changed her center of balance and was twice as risky. A few centimeters to the side, Alicent could all but see it - splat on the ground. “Penny for your thoughts?”
“My thoughts are worth far more than that.”
