I’m twenty years late. This is exactly how I want to see Augustus, sly and seductive, unashamed of his wants. And Agrippa, unfailingly loyal but also possessive. It’s exactly as I like it. And the little bit of forbidden, scandalous relationship between Julius and Octavius is delicious too. I love this. Again, twenty years too late...

“My lord, for all your love for Iskander, will you not save him?”
Bagoas had served Alexander for many years, and had come to witness and accept the relationship between the king and his favourite. But it was not until the end, when he gazed upon those eyes of the night for the last time, that he truly understood the love between the Alexander and Hephaistion.

This is great; finally a story that depicts their relationship as I’d always imagined it: Hephaistion being the devote and possessive protector, and Alexander, with all his faults, being Hephaistion‘s lifelong treasure. I couldn’t stand any of the classics on this topic, from Renault to The Persian Boy, Hephaistion is the only one Alexander loves and I finally found it in fan works.

The victory I laid at your feet, my heart I once again held in my hands, an offering hung in the air, forever unacknowledged. Rome wonders that I harbour no desire to usurp your title, as if that is what I crave. A scrap of your affection quenches my thirst for years; but I am a dying man, and even the comfort of your approval can no longer carry me. Fare thee well, my beloved Octavian, may my soul be drawn to you again in the next life.
This couple broke me, I still haven’t recovered TT___TT

All of Arthur's life, he'd wandered around without knowing what black or white or light or dark looked like. In fact, he didn't even know what red looked like. Or blue. Or green, or purple, or any other colour that could be named.
Arthur was blind.

Prickly but very cute Arthur + oblivious heroic Alfred, with a dash of height difference. This is so adorable, I grinned so hard my face almost stuck. <3

“If you leave me, I’ll kill you. I could kill you here and now.”
After the war, in his most vulnerable years, Arthur, or Great Britain, is at his most dishonest.
He lies to himself more than anyone.
Apart from Alfred, the United States, perhaps.
He lies when he says that he doesn't believe Alfred's lies and hopes, his beautiful, beautiful lies.Bookmarked by idleton

Yeah, possessive and slightly abusive Cold War America is my jam. USUK relationship in the Cold War is a treasure trove of love and angst, it’d be nice to serve fluffy endings after though.

This is one of the most realistic (as in historically) USUK stories around. Their postwar dynamic is pretty much this. I wish it were longer though, with some Cold War angst, and violation of the “just one time” promise, and jealousy during the Suez crisis... leading to true romance at some point. All these years and I still have a thing for cocky Alfred drunk on his new found superpower status, it’s difficult to write it into romance though.

Summary
Alfred, an alpha (but doesn’t really act like an alpha most of the time), has a crush on his beta senior and fellow otaku, Kiku. Kiku left for college before Alfred could confess, and when he they meet again, Al meets Arthur, an omega who seems too close to Kiku for his liking. Although Al’s relationship with Arthur didn’t exactly go off on a smooth start, he finds himself getting closer to the omega as time passes. USUK with slight one-sided Ameripan at first.

“Can I take off your pants?”
He definitely doesn't shudder at the low, intimate whisper. “I don't know. Can you?”
America pinches him for that. England muffles his moan into the pillow. “Smartass. May I, oh great Professor Kirkland?”
“You may undress me,” England allows graciously, feeling deliciously warm and loose and tingly. America might not often ask for verbal permission, but he always required an answer when he did and it was generally better for all involved that permission be granted before he resorted to more… creative persuasion.

“S-sire, I- ohhh…!”
“So formal,” Alfred murmurs, pressing a kiss to Arthur’s knee. “What have I told you about calling me that in private?”
(Arthur stands on ceremony too much sometimes. Is that why Alfred's torturing him now? Well, not really, no. He just likes making Arthur squirm.)

Summary
The silence that falls between them is almost awkward. Arthur does not fiddle with the stirrer or chug down the latte in jumpy gulps, but takes it in measured sips. It’s a habit that makes others a bit nervous; Arthur has never minded silence, but everyone else seems to feel the need to fill it up with idle small talk, or to flick him speculative sideways glances that they think he doesn’t notice because he doesn’t bother staring back.
It’s almost awkward because Alfred does nothing Arthur’s come to expect. He doesn’t ask questions like the curious, he doesn’t fawn or smile or politely ask for an autograph, as fans normally do, and he doesn’t go back to work, like anyone else who didn’t give a damn would. Instead, he twirls the screwdriver between his fingers, round and round like a metronome, head tilted slightly and watching Arthur steadily.
(An AU in which Arthur is an actor of some fame, and Alfred works at a coffee shop).

The author gets it - why Arwin fell in love with Latte. He has shown her his true self from the very beginning, rather than hiding behind a carefully crafted persona like with Ibelyn. She saw him for all that he was and chose him.

Heartwarming but not without the ache. No matter how enraging canon becomes, we can fix it with a dash of romanticism and a lot of love! The new city of ice and thunder in the epilogue put a dopey smile on my face for the whole day.

Tom is unapologetically dark, demonic even. An angel of death so mesmerising that we are spell-bound, helpless, ready to forgive whatever he might do. This is a story of corruption, romanticised and unconditionally accepted. I don’t believe I’ve come across another author in the HP world whose writing confesses this type of love to its true extent, the kind where nothing matters but the object of your worship. That’s how we feel in the Tom Riddle religion. Beautiful.

This is quite an underrated story, the gothic horror elements are enthralling. And the mystery is never completely resolved, the canon connection took me by surprise in the end, the backstory is very intriguing and will keep your imagination whirring for a while after finishing the story.
