As a child, Seong Gi-hun was an avid guitarist. He'd play the instrument in every moment of his free time, strumming out chords and riffs no matter what mood he was in. But with highschool, part-time jobs and his father's death getting in the way, he hasn't touched the instrument in ages. He soon finds a reason- a good reason- to pick the instrument back up after spotting a poster pinned on the school's noticeboard.

AAside SQUID GAME AU
Banri is a young man who has many financial struggles, to say the least. With his family business sinking deep into debts, his whole family depending on him to keep a roof above their heads and owing amounts that he would never be able to pay back, he soon becomes desperate to earn money in any way possible. Be it taking up multiple- and any kind- of jobs. And so he does, working as a waiter and a nightshift delivery driver, becoming exhausted, overworked and pleading more desperate as each day passes.
However, that changes when a man in a suit approaches him for a small game of rock-paper-scissors by the empty night plaza- in exchange for a large amount of money for every win. Fatigued to the brink of extinction, Banri hesitantly takes up the offer to win some money by beating the man in a game, which proves harder than it previously seemed, but getting there in the end. And so he is soon handed a lump of cash and a printed brown business card.
Having lost all hope, Banri soon dials up the number and registers himself into the games... Only to realise that he had made the biggest mistake of his life.
