Summary
After the deaths of his wife and daughter, a heartbroken Arthur Lester forsakes Earth for an opportunity aboard an intergalactic space station, populated by strange species from every corner of the galaxy. Arthur, blinded following the accident which left him widowed, decides to give the arrangement a go.
Yet as friendship kindles and they grow closer, Arthur learns that John’s past, as full of secrets as John himself, harbors not only terrifying mysteries of old gods, but a growing threat. One which will force both John and Arthur to the edge of known space, and back to the shores of the Lake of Hali, to face a darkness which threatens all of Carcosa.
