“Rin.”Rin stiffens. The gesture looks familiar and yet so foreign coming from her adult form.
She drops to the ground gracefully, as a good servant would when addressing her master. This, also, feels unsettlingly foreign.
“Sesshoumaru-sama.”
Her voice has grown deeper. Her scent, too, has grown more complex. Sesshoumaru can’t tell if she’s happy or sad from just a whiff anymore. That bothers him.
“What’s the meaning of this?”
Rin inhales a sharp breath. But it’s not her who answers his question.
“What does it look like?”
He turns to find his mother gliding down to land silently next to him.
“You did not wish her to dance at your banquet so she held her own celebration here,” she says.
Rin’s scent turns sour. This, Sesshoumaru knows; she's distressed.
Intrigued with her son’s palpable sadness at the death of the human infant, Sesshoumaru’s mother offers to revive her with her Meidou jewel, with one condition: he must leave the infant with her. Exasperated, Miroku has decided it's best for Inuyasha to enter a public relationship, in an attempt to soften his public image. Enter Kagome Higurashi, a barista who works at a cafe a few blocks away from Inuyasha's flashy Manhattan apartment. Tempers and frustrations fly as Kagome and Inuyasha struggle in adjusting to a loveless relationship, but will time change that?
Story is rated E for graphic depictions of violence, and blood as well as references and chapters referring to alcoholism/addiction, depression and suicidal thoughts and frequent bad language/cursing.
