If Link remembered at all, he'd remember it like this: the moment he pulled the Sword from its pedestal, he became a weapon to be passed from hand to hand until the Ancient Evil actually deigned to show up. It didn't occur to him that someone might have feelings for him, because it didn't often occur to him that he was allowed to be a person. But when you care about people, as it happens, people usually care about you. Maybe not the same people, and maybe not in the way anyone would expect, but they do.
If Link remembered at all, he'd remember this: behind that face of stone, he cared.

Summary
Revali isn't getting along with Link, despite Link's attemps at making them more friendly. One day, Link once again tries getting closer to him, but things don't go exactly as planned.

The day before he fought Ganon the first time, he’d visited all the people he’d come to know and all the Champions waiting for release. He had thought it would be the last time he’d ever see them. He’d even made peace with it.
Now, that yesterday is nearing a month ago for Link, and he is so tired.
“I did,” he says. “I went. Fought Ganon.”
“— Did you have to retreat?”
“…Didn’t fight it today. Five days ago. And ten. But also today.”
Link defeats the Calamity. And then he faces it again and again and again and again—

The Great Eagle Bow was too heavy for him to lift. Revali tried it at the same time every day– ten minutes after the visit ended, and five minutes after the tiny Hylian physicians tucked him back into the tiny Hylian bed (they didn’t have hammocks.)
In which Revali wakes up 105 years after the Calamity to an adventure beyond anything he's ever known. Link invites himself along.
