“Don’t worry,” he says, a smirk at his lips. Wakatoshi thinks it would be playful on someone else’s face; amused on Iwaizumi, teasing on Semi, wicked on Tendou. On Oikawa, it looks a little like a trap. “I won’t bite.”
Wakatoshi frowns at him, and takes his seat. “I wasn’t worried about that,” he says. “You have never bitten me. It seems unlikely for you to start now.”
“Maybe I want to sabotage you before our game,” Oikawa says, not even missing a beat.
Wakatoshi tilts his head. “You’ve never needed to sabotage your opponents to perform admirably, Oikawa,” he says.
Oikawa doesn’t say anything to that. Wakatoshi is not used to this turn of events. Normally it’s Oikawa who always has something to say – Oikawa who never falters, Oikawa who has never met a mountain he isn’t determined to climb.
