It was strong, unpleasant, and something they had never, ever expected from Reggie. He was drunk. Reginald Carter was actually, completely, for what had to be the first time ever, drunk.

When TK returned to his and Owen’s apartment in the middle of the night, he hadn’t expected he’d find his father sitting on the couch, mindlessly petting Buttercup and watching some late night made-for-TV movie. TK had just gotten back from watching the bright lights dance across the sky with Carlos. The thought of the cop, the evening they shared, and of how Carlos dropped him off in that blue Camaro with a smile and a kiss to his cheek made TK blush involuntarily. The firefighter tried to switch his focus from it, trying to evaluate whether or not his father was alright. It wasn’t often he was awake and semi-active at 1:30 in the morning.

“The drag queens were doing high kicks,” a teenage boy said to Buck and Eddie, coming up in front of them. “One of them lost her heel- it hit that guy. Thank goodness, honestly. He kept going on and on about it being unnatural.”
The boy was maybe 17 or 18, dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and a loose fitting, rainbow tie-dyed muscle tank. He was frowning as he looked on to Chimney attempting to clean the wound as best he could without taking out the heel.
“Karma’s a bitch,” Buck couldn’t stop himself from saying, causing the teenager to laugh.
--------The 118 gets a call to deal with an injured protester at an LA Pride Festival. It seems even a stiletto to the shoulder won't stop the man from expressing his homophobia, however, and Buck does something about it. That something, of course, involves Eddie, an impulsive decision, and just maybe a happy ending.

“What, uh- what are you guys doing here?” Eddie asked, trying his hardest not to sound hostile or accusatory- the last thing he needed was to start a fight with them in front of Chris. Helena frowned at her son’s question.

“We heard from you sister that you were having a party,” Ramon piped up, the accusation a lot more clear in his voice than it had been Eddie’s. He knew the look on his mother’s face was screaming “You’re having a party and we weren’t invited”.

When Eddie signed himself up for a weekend of birthday festivities for his almost 10 year old son, he knew he was going to have to deal with the energy, sugar-rushes, and overall excitement of Christopher. Thankfully, he had roped Buck into helping him with it all. What he had not planned to deal with, however, were his parents showing up on his doorstep the day of Christopher's birthday party, insisting they were here to help celebrate. And wasn't that just a recipe for disaster worse than anything Eddie could cook up in the kitchen.

It hadn’t been a question that after Eddie had spent hours in the hospital getting checked over, asking the nurses repeatedly to make sure Hayden was doing well, and everyone finally cleaned off the hours of rain and mud, that Buck was going home with him. The doctors had left Eddie with strict instructions that he should not be alone, that someone would need to stay with him while he healed, for at least the next three days. He had bruised ribs from falling after cutting his line, a mild concussion, and a mild case of hypothermia. The entire time with the doctors, Bobby and Buck stood by his side, listening to the doctors describe care methods and ordering that he take it easy for a while. Buck had simply nodded and raised his hand when the doctor asked if Eddie had someone that could stay with him and Christopher.

After the events of Hayden's rescue, the tunnel's collapse, and the search for Eddie, Buck and Eddie go home to recover. The emotional tax is hard on both of them, but they've got each other's backs. Hopefully, with the knowledge that both of them and Christopher are safe, they can get through it all. -

When Eddie's grandmother, Isabel, and his aunt Pepa decide to throw a party for Isabel's birthday, they decide to invite the entire Diaz family into Los Angeles. It will be chaotic, loud, wonderful, and for Eddie, extremely nerve-wracking. Not only will his entire family- who he hasn't seen his Shannon's funeral when they tried to convince him to come back to El Paso- be at the party, but Isabel Diaz, like the crazy trickster she is, made sure to extend a party invitation to Buck, as well. It doesn't help that Eddie is feeling himself fall more and more head over heels for his best friend, something he is sure will be hard to hide as he finds himself driving Christopher and Buck towards his Abuela's the day of the party. The day will surely shape up to be an interesting event.
