Yoshiki could accept that his best friend was no longer his best friend, but merely something else. Something that should be inhumane and wrong and filthy, but it would be his. Yoshiki could cope just fine. As long as Hikaru kept looking at him with those bright eyes and did those stupid impressions and promised to come bother him in Tokyo. As long as he greeted him in the mornings before school and they could continue to text about the newest additions of Master Master and Hikaru promised not to leave.
He didn't care what this version of Hikaru really was. He didn't care. Hikaru's here and he's staying.
Yoshiki would make sure of it.

The door didn't fully shut behind Yoshiki after he left. The crack allowed a stripe of light to slice through the otherwise dark room.
Hikaru turned on his side, toward the door. The light stopped just short of him.
"Yoshiki..." Hikaru's fingers stretched along the floor. They clasped around the light, the action only illuminating his dirtied knuckles and short nails. The very depths of himself ached with something he was so tired of having to feel. "...I've been starving."

“Enough,” she grunts. “What can I say? I’m kind of a big deal right now.”
Caitlyn’s frown pulls tighter down her face, a set and angry point to her brows. “That’s it. You’re cut off.”
“You’re not in charge down here,” Vi spits in protest. “I can drink as much as I want.”
But Caitlyn’s not listening, just like every other Caitlyn that only ever comes to make her feel like shit about herself. She leans over the bar and waves the tender over, making some kind of motion towards Vi.
