Summary
Lena lets out a careful breath and says, “James and I have decided to end our— association.”
What a perfectly weird and roundabout way to describe the end of a romantic relationship, Kara thinks. “Oh?” she says, aptly demonstrating her own comparative lack of eloquence.
It earns her one of Lena’s crinkly smiles at least, affection clear on her best friend’s face. “Should I feel offended that you don’t seem all that surprised?” she flusters.
“No,” Kara says, “I am,” and she is, is the thing, she's actually stunned, but she’s something else, much more than that.
She’s elated.
“Bummer,” Kara says.
-
In which Kara makes a tiny new enemy, Alex has an actual functioning gaydar, and Lena breaks up with James only to immediately start seeing someone else. And Kara is fine! Except for the part where she’s really, really not.

Summary
“It’s a lot easier for me to keep my grip on you when I can actually feel your body.”
The phrase feel your body said in Kara’s voice rattles around in Lena’s head like a pinball machine, but she manages to shrug her sweater off and throw it somewhere behind them before she can second-guess herself. Kara is looking comfortable in a loose white t-shirt, and when she takes Lena by the waist and puts Lena’s hand on her shoulder the texture of it is light and soft.
“Let’s start from square one,” Kara says, so kindly that her next words take a few seconds to register in Lena’s brain. She tightens her grip on Lena’s waist, and says with full confidence:
“Dancing is a lot like sex.”
OR
Against her better judgement Lena agrees to compete on Dancing with the Stars for the PR boost. When her chemistry with her partner Kara gets misconstrued by the press, there’s obviously only one solution.

Summary
“Kara,” Winn says softly.
“Hm?”
“Lena’s last name is Luthor.”
Kara slows to a stop sign and feels the tension build in the truck as Winn anticipates a reaction.
She doesn’t give him one.
“So?” She looks ahead at the intersection. Focusing on pushing in the clutch and shifting through the gears when it’s her turn to go.
“I just… I wasn’t sure if you knew. And thought maybe it’d be something you’d noticeably react to -- once you found out. And, well, what if you found out from Lena and reacted in front of her? So I--”
“Why should I care if her last name is Luthor?” Kara cuts him off.
“Kara--”
“Lionel didn’t even get charged. The evidence was circumstantial at best,” Kara dismisses as she takes a corner just a tad too fast.
“Kara, her dad was the main suspect in your entire family’s murder.”

Ava assumes that the others haven’t really grasped exactly how much she’s lacking in terms of the whole fine motor control thing, and she’s really in no hurry to tell them. All she has to do is not let on to the fact that she’s kind of terrible at moderating her physical touches when interacting with people, and she’ll be set.

Summary
Kate Bishop is a photojournalism student at NYU, talented but admittedly lacking in focus. When she’s all but forced to cover an international hockey tournament for her end of semester piece, it’s not exactly her dream come true. Kate has never really given a shit about hockey. But that was before she met the terrifying captain of Team Russia. Yelena Belova is one of the world’s best competitive hockey players - ruthless, driven, and talented beyond measure - and Kate knows a good story when she sees one. Sure, she’s strange and irritating and extremely distracting, but Kate can deal with it. But there’s more to this game than meets the eye, and when she goes digging and uncovers more than she bargained for, everything changes. The stakes are high and everything is on the line. But she can’t win alone.

Summary
The seat directly in front of the grill is open and don’t mind if she does. She folds her hands on the dirty counter and stares intently at the back of the cook’s head. So she’s one day out of prison: just thin, precarious ice between her feet and spending the rest of her best years behind bars, and she’s decided she’s going to stomp.
She’s going to ruin everything.
She’s going to physically fight a fry cook at a ten-head diner in the worst part of the city over almost nothing whatsoever.

Her signature accessory – the Widow bites – are snug against her wrists, along with a gold watch on the left that Kate knows is expensive just by looking at it. Not that she is, of course. Looking.

Summary
Kara craves Lena. That's the crux of it. Her friendship is intoxicating, like a drug. She thinks she wouldn't mind kissing her on the lips, because a lot of best friends who are really really close kiss on the lips. It's just something humans do. Having that part of Lena hidden away from her, it makes Kara feel some kind of way.
She wishes Lena was even the slightest bit interested in her. That she would notice her broad shoulders when they work out, or touch her jaw with the pads of her fingers to get her attention.
But that’s not who Kara is to Lena. She would be jealous but they’re just friends, best friends, so.
She’s not.
At all.
Maybe a teeny-weeny bit, but that’s all.
