He—Chihiro—asks. The three other figures' heads whip just as fast to her direction, their eyes wide, mouth slightly ajar. Iori grips at the hem of her skirt. What's wrong? Why are they looking at me like I'm the weird one here?
"I—It's true," she says, meeting their gaze. Iori glances to the sword by her side, attached to her hip like it belongs to her, even though it doesn't.
or, Iori isn't... Iori? Chihiro and the Masumi don't know anymore. It's a problem none of them ever expected to show up.

It was a job and Tim treated it like one, never slacking off or playing around. Bruce trusted him with the responsibility because he knew Tim could handle it.
Which was why, after Bane broke Batman’s back and put him out of commission, Bruce trusted Tim with Gotham. He trusted Tim to watch over Jean-Paul Valley as he handed him Gotham.

“Want me to let you go?”
Yoshiki held his hand tightly over his beating heart, snugging their bodies closer.
“Never.”
Hikaru’s breath hitched at the response. Yoshiki felt the slight wobbling of the smaller body and hugged him steadily, encircling and covering him completely with his scent.
“Is that— a wish?”, a sniffle.
“It’s my wish to you”, Yoshiki mumbled, feeling a light burning sensation on his blemished arm, their promise locked and carried by the summer wind.Yoshiki struggles with how to define what they are, what they should be. Hikaru thinks they don't have to and, like sunflower fields persevering throughout the seasons, they blossom despite everything.

Shiba is with him, sitting on the steps of the porch of a random place they've managed to rent. It's cozy. There's goldfish swimming around just nearby the pond surrounded by a nice arrangement of stones. The water looks clear.
Too clear. Chihiro can see his own eyes staring back at him, but everything else melts into the ripples and waves—and colors; orange, red, black, yellow, and Chihiro thinks he's looking at a sunset, but obviously, they're just goldfish.
Just goldfish. It's just goldfish. They're not in a bowl. He tears his sight away from them before he mistakes them for something else entirely.
or, try and love as hard as Chihiro might, some things just stay the same.
