It’s a Thursday afternoon when Steve finally decides that enough is enough.
It’s been weeks of this - this thing with Eddie, and Steve is over it. He’s over being distracted, and flustered, and embarrassed, and fucking…confused about everything when it comes to Eddie. He knows what his problem is. His poor brain is just fried, too many hits to the dome, and now it’s crushing on Eddie because it thinks that Eddie is a girl. And Steve knows - okay, he knows - that it isn’t true, but there’s still some deep and dark and hungry part of his mind that doesn’t buy it. That sees long hair, and pretty eyes, and a slender frame, and wants in a way that Steve knows he shouldn’t. He can’t.
And after mulling it over for a few hours, the solution seems clear.
Steve just needs to see Eddie’s dick.

He feels pleasantly heavy, not willing to move, tethered to the earth and bonded with her, his love. It feels like there’s time for everything, time enough at last. He looks up at the stars and asks her to name constellations. She obliges, lovingly — naming one after the other, pointing with her strong soft capable hand, and as she speaks he can really see them, the shapes they’re supposed to form — she’s a wonderful travel guide. Her voice floats to him dreamily and he starts to drift.
