"Hey, Dekorin." Ino flicked her, dragging her attention to the food that had been served. She hoped they had thanked the chef for her- she didn't want to be impolite. "Hey, chin up. We did it, right?"
Sakura took a deep breath and nodded, coming to a decision.
"Yeah." She grinned, giddiness returning and mixing with refocused determination. "We sure did. All of us."
She could fix this. She She had to.

Or: Sakura Haruno, newly appointed apprentice of the Godaime, does some reflection and realizes that her 'inner self' is actually a terrible coping mechanism that she can't afford to indulge anymore, as her responsibilities increase. She tries to do the mature thing and leave that part of her behind.Tries being the operative word, of course.

A Forward by the Scholar Zuyen:
It has been a long upheld truth of our great nation that after the twin falls of the disgraced Fire Lord Ozai and Princess Azula, and their subsequent imprisonments, neither of the two ever regained contact with our well-respected Fire Lord Zuko. While Fire Lord Zuko ensured the humane holding conditions of his estranged father and sister immediately after his ascension to the throne, he reportedly never saw a need to continue communications with them. Before writing this book, my answer to such an obvious statement would have been, "Blasting flames—well of course he didn't!" Now, though, my answer would be quite different. But best leave that til later.
Fire Lord Zuko, when questioned about such matters, only ever gave one answer in response, saying: “A true leader has no need for snakes and scoundrels. Dragons are far superior.”
Given his far more professional reply, it is no wonder that he was the fire lord and I am a less-than-humble scholar.

In the sealed scroll he finds a Bingo Book – his own page marking him as an S-class nukenin with flee-on-sight orders.
“Ok. That is definitely different.”
In his head he blames Naruto – even if his number one unpredictable student had been nowhere near him on this mission. When things go this stupidly impossibly wrong it must somehow be the future Hokage’s fault.

Summary
In a cruelly ironic twist of fate, Sasuke of all people is the first to put the pieces together.
"What are you doing here?" He rasped out, still hoarse from whatever the hell he'd done in that accursed Forest.
"Oh, isn't it obvious?!" Ino threw up her hands in frustration, "I'm threatening you!"
Sasuke just blinked. "....Why?"
"Figure it out!" She yelled over her shoulder, done with looking at his stupid face.
And, to his credit, he did exactly that.
(Or: five times other people picked up on Ino's feelings for Sakura, and one time Sakura noticed it herself.)
