Kaeya Alberich was a man who lived his whole life embroiled in conflict and scandal, while nonetheless being admired deeply. His final controversy, however, had been fatal. The embezzlement scandal had caused Kaeya Alberich to take his own life.
As head investigator behind the circumstances of Kaeya’s suicide, Lumine is determined to find out what exactly happened with Kaeya Alberich, and whether it was truly just the guilt from embezzlement that had caused him to do something so drastic.
And Diluc Ragnvindr? He is equally as determined to find the truth and clear Kaeya’s name.

Summary
Kaeya and Diluc had been on good terms recently. Being on good terms didn’t necessarily mean that they didn’t argue though. Yes, they knew they always had each other's back, but from Kaeya’s perspective, that wasn’t proof that Diluc actually liked him as a person.

Or, in other words, Diluc and Kaeya have an argument. Kaeya is out of it afterwards, constantly thinking about what Diluc said. He ends up getting stabbed because he was too distracted to pay attention.
