Summary
Peering from the roof, his green eyes burned bright as he scanned the area below. Glistening golden treasures were in his sights, ready for the taking. He locked on to his target, a golden, aged figure of a cat. This will be his tonight.
It had been laughably easy to enter, he didn’t even need to try. Things just fell into place, like they always seemed to do with him. Taking a second to absorb the sights around him, he slowly started to descend further into the room. He moved silently and with skill that came with experience.

“You have something in your eye.”
He was tempted to sell the lie by reaching out and rubbing his eye himself. He caught himself midway. With his arm awkwardly raised, his fingers twitched. And when Naegi’s eyes immediately shot towards his moving hand, he forced it back to his side as soon as possible. His body stilled. Humiliation burned the back of his neck.
At that point, all he could do was hope the redness wasn't that obvious.
His stiff posture elicited an eyebrow raise from Naegi. He then glanced down at his now balled fist. He stared for a few seconds, then he raised his gaze back up to meet his eyes.
A smile. If Byakuya was delusional, he would have described it more as a smirk.
That part didn’t matter, though. What did matter was that he knew Naegi knew he was lying.
OR
There were many things about life that Byakuya was certain he understood. This, however, felt like a whole new thing he had never discovered.
