Summary
Despite the aching in your skull, you turn your head and focus your eyes towards the golden mystery to your right, and your eyes fall upon Sam standing over your bedside. His wild crown of spikey blond hair is what you mistook for sunbeams. Sam always has reminded you of some kind of sun god–from his good looks to his radiant smiles and laughter–but now his golden locks are mussed, as though he's been clutching at them in frustration… or perhaps to try to stay awake.
Sam stares back at you through eyes the green of distant, stormy seas. They are red-rimmed and bloodshot, and to gaze into them right now is to invoke the words, "Here there be dragons."
His voice sounds choked and shaken as he turns away and calls out, "Harvey! She's awake!" Sam's large hands wrap around your own tiny hand, and the warmth flowing into your skin fills you with reassurance.

After the farmer nearly dies in the Skull Caverns, the farmer and Sam deal with the emotional and physical fallout of that night. Turns out they both need a little comfort and intimacy.
