Summary
Buffy’s finally on the verge of ending things with Spike. Then she finds out he’s dead.
Starts from an alternate version of s06e15 “As You Were”. Buffy thinks some of Riley’s military boys killed Spike. Her reaction surprises everyone, most of all herself.
Turns out Spike’s as alive as ever, but when he gets back, it’s Buffy who isn't quite the same.

Spike is unable to stay away, only he's fighting his own inner battles he doesn't want to burden her with. Impersonating a robot for a few days should be easy, right?
