“Hey, I was gonna buy a swimsuit.” He shifted the towel tighter around his chest, feeling oddly defensive. “They’re just so fucking expensive. It was like $45 for the top and the bottom! Forgive me for not spending $45 for a dumb bit. I’m not running the Gotham drug trade anymore, I don’t have the disposable income for this shit.” Everyone was looking at him, so he fixed Steph with a glare and bit out, “Well, how much did yours cost?”
“Not $45, that’s for sure,” Steph said, finally at her normal speaking pitch. “Where’d you go for it, anyway?”
“I looked at Target,” he said. She grinned at him. “What,” he spit back, “are you gonna tell me I should’ve gotten one on clearance from Walmart or some shit? Because some of us have fucking standards, Stephanie.”
She grinned toothily at him. “I am not immune to Walmart prices.”
