When he takes a week-long position at the Black & Sons sheep farm to help out during lambing season, he ends up finding a kindred spirit in the farmer's son. But he has to leave when the week is up, and that might just be his undoing.

"I'll show you, 'distracted'," Sirius muttered, easily picking up the rhythm of his waltz with Remus.
Sweat clung to his skin as endorphins flooded his brain like a wave. His body felt light despite the mounting exhaustion that seeped deep into his flesh and his muscles burned in the best possible way. It was like laughing late at night until his ribs ached, like soaring through the sky, the wind biting his cheeks.
Even if he wanted to, he wouldn’t have been able to suppress the sweet euphoria that stretched his lips into a smile.
"Why are you smiling like that?" Remus called out, catching his breath. "Do you like getting your ass kicked that much?"

As war knocks at their door, Sirius and Remus take advantage of the last moments of calm to train together.
