“You’re worried about everybody.” Lois says, and Clark shoots her a look. “What makes him so special?”
Clark shrugs. “I don’t know, I don’t know anything about him.” It had been hard not to follow Spiderman back to wherever he goes each night, desperate to learn more about him, trying not to let the worry overwhelm him. He digs a little harder at the coffee stain. "I think he's alone."
He looks back up to see Lois staring at him, her mouth screwed up and her eyebrows drawn close together, her fingernail tapping against the wood. “How are you gonna help him?”
Clark just sighs. "In whatever way I can."
Or
Peter Parker shows up on Superman's doorstep, and for some reason, he can't get the superhero to leave him alone. Clark just wants to help.

Peter Parker has to leave, not just his entire Identity gets scratched – no, it’s his entire existence. But he can’t just disappear, the laws of physics wouldn’t agree with that. So, they simply move him somewhere else. And where better would that be than into a city that doesn’t exist to him but almost exactly like NYC.
Well, this one is called ‘Metropolis’ … but it can’t be that different. If it weren’t for the occasional giant kaiju attacks. At least Peter knows how to handle aliens, and movies prepare him for all the rest, hopefully.

It starts off as a joke. Something stupid and silly to say to Lex when he buys Clark's textbooks or pays for pizza, to make the fact that Clark can't afford it himself a little more bearable. They laugh, Clark feels less guilty for taking Lex's money, and they move on.
The more he does it, the less funny it gets.
Until Clark has another secret to hide from Lex.
