Summary
In his mind, Ned changes tack and pushes away the wind and the noise and the sound of Peter's panicked voice in his ear assuring him that it’s okay it’s okay please be okay; all of that dims around him as he concentrates on the pain. He plunges himself down into it as it crests and consciously pulls up more images like roots out of the dirt. Flashes of a bubbly woman with waist-length brown hair. A small cluttered apartment he spent more time in than in his own. Notes passed in class, doodles and in-jokes.
He can sense so much more underneath. He’s only pulling up little threads, flares and feelings, things that slip through his fingers. If he trusts and follows that feeling he was having in the first flash memory, of reaching out to Peter with everything in him, what will he find?
He digs his proverbial fingers into his mind and pulls.

Summary
"I'm mad, trust me I'm so fucking mad at you but I'm also so fucking scared every time you take off the mask Peter," Ned's never picked a fight with Peter and it's something he's not used to, someone actually caring.
"I'm fine," he replies
"Are you? Because the Peter I knew would never deliberately hurt himself, I mean fuck you're covered in cuts and bruises— it's like you want to die." MJ's eyes are red, and she's hugging herself because Peter's not doing well.
He stays silent because he can't lie to them, not again, its the one condition they had.
OR
Vignettes of Peter's life when he was alone and the damage it left, damage that stayed even after reconciling with his best friends and a path towards healing.

Summary
She placed the sketchpad on the desk where all the gifts for spider-man were laid; a simple smile blooming on her face.
“Not waiting until he turns to?” Frank asked, looking at MJ’s retreating form.
The simple smile on her face transformed into a grin.
“I’ll wait for him to come find me.” MJ answered, glancing one last time on Peter before closing the door.
