Karen was just putting her make-up on in the morning. Sean was staring; staring, covetously.
What’s wrong wit’ me? Sean thought again, mentally hitting himself out of disgust.
Maybe… if I was like Karen—if I was born a woman—my hands wouldn’t be so rough, he’d say to himself. Maybe if I was a woman, my hair wouldn’t be so tangled and wouldn’t have so many dead-ends.
Maybe then—if I was a woman—my hands would be softer, and my hair would be less-tangled.
A heavy, shaky sigh left Sean’s lips at the thought.
Can’t I just like how I am?

Sean can’t ignore the aching feeling of envy when he sees one of the girls in camp; usually when they’re putting on make-up, or dressing up all fancy. Most would think it’s because he wants to sleep with them, (as he’s done in the past) maybe even thinks they’re pretty. *But,* it’s actually the opposite. (You know where this is going…)
