Summary
Eddie was acting weird.
He knew he was (thanks therapy!), and he knew other people were also starting to notice it. It wasn't a big thing, really – he was just… on some sort of autopilot, if he had to describe it. He was happy, in a way, and life was good, Chris was healthy and thriving, everyone was alive.
He'd wake up, get ready, get Chris to school, go to work, make some effort to stay present in the conversations and laugh at the right times, he'd do his job, but there was a… hollowness to it, life simultaneously feeling too normal and not normal enough.
In which Eddie is still trying to get past the fiveish minutes where Buck was dead, and they talk™ about it.

"Bruce." Clark turns towards him, leaning back against a bank of consoles. "We're not actually going undercover. We don't need an elaborate backstory– if anything, it'll be harder to keep straight. It doesn't have to be complicated." He spreads his hands. "Here's a story: we're members of the same elite fighting force. After years of saving each other's lives in the field, we fell in love. That's it."
Bruce swallows past the almost-truth of it. In Clark's warm smooth radio voice, it sounds plausible. It sounds like something that could happen.

“What's the plan, then?” Superman asked, eyebrows furrowed. “Dress in civvies? It'll be tricky to hide your, uh.” He brought up both hands and wiggled two fingers on either side of his head. “Ears.”
“Ha,” said Batman, as Robin and Superman both grinned. “Funny. No. I've got another plan.”
During a team-up, Robin lets slip that a certain Bat's birthday is coming up. Superman reacts accordingly, as does Batman — naturally, they engage in complicated communication rituals.
