“Well?” Jiang Cheng crossed his arms. “Take your robes off.”
Nie Huaisang shakily undid the tie on his purple middle robes. “I still don’t really see why I have to do this.”
Jiang Cheng, thankfully, was not staring at Nie Huaisang as he let his middle robe slide off of his shoulders. “If you’re not careful, you can get tangled in your robes and drown.”
Nie Huaisang let his eyes dart down to the massive scar running down the center of Jiang Cheng’s stomach, as he undid the clasps on his inner robe. He’d heard, of course, of what Jiang Cheng had done to get his golden core back. The scar was white and puckered, and the part of Nie Huaisang’s mind that he was trying very hard to suppress wondered how it would feel if he pressed into it with his fingers.
His inner robe slid to the ground. Jiang Cheng caught his eye, and held his gaze for a moment. For some reason, Nie Huaisang felt like Jiang Cheng was trying hard not to look down too.
