    Vodyanitsa’s excited at the prospect of going to a school in a big city like Shneznograd. And she’s excited at the prospect of meeting new people. And then she’s a little too excited and puts in a request to form an After Class Club.

    Odette doesn’t share Vodyanitsa’s excitement, but she does share her love for the arts. She’s a ballerina, after all. And when Vodya creates a Theatre Club she’s the first to join.

    Mitya’s not an actor and he really doesn’t plan on being one, but when his new friends invite him to join a Theatre Club he gladly does so. Especially when they tell him that he can just sleep through most of the performance.

    Alyosha gets roped into the whole ordeal because Vodyanitsa asks him to. And maybe also because his granny told him to do something just for himself for once. It’s a bit of a paradox but the outcome is like this — he’s part of the Theatre Club.

    And Valeriy? He’s there just to make sure Mitya doesn’t suddenly fall asleep on the stage and break his nose. That’s the only reason. Well, maybe Mitya’s lips are the second one, but no one needs to know that.
