You can even take this letter back with you, read it until the pages become all wrinkled, and hold it close to your breast on cold nights and think of your faithful and loving wife waiting for you back on shore… Do not laugh. I am being very serious. I know you miss me, perhaps even more than I miss you (though I doubt it!).

Summary
“I feel half-blind when I see you wear it,” Eärendil tells her, after clasping the Nauglamír around her neck. It’s not quite complimentary. Elwing looks at herself in the mirror, the light cast off by the silmaril bouncing on the surface and reflecting onto her face, smoothing it out. That light feels almost as if it could fill up the cracks, patch them up back into something less prone to shattering. When she walks, it cuts through the mire of ghosts cleanly, carving her a path where the air feels sweeter.
From a thousand mouths, our dead assemble.

Summary
Shigeo’s still looking at him, and—the thing is, Ritsu has a sneaking suspicion of what this is all about, of what that dream was trying to dredge up. Shigeo doesn’t deserve his fear. Not now. Not when he’s just started to get better. If Ritsu ruined that for him, if he made him go back to that version of himself that was small and closed up, he would never forgive himself.
He pulls his hands away from Shigeo’s in one sharp motion. “Anyway,” he says, and starts making his way to the door. “Thanks for waking me up. We should both go back to sleep if we want to be functioning tomorrow.” He’s in his room with the door closed behind him before Shigeo can get a word in edgewise.

Summary
“You have it in your head that by taking yourself to the Alcethmeret, you are doing the emperor some great piece of… charity, loyalty, fidelity, we know not what,” the Dowager Marchioness had said to her. “Divest yourself of this notion. It achieves none of these things. What it achieves, is giving you nowhere to run when you put a foot wrong— which will happen, mark us on that point. The only way this foolish play can possibly work for you is if you are lucky. Pray do you think yourself lucky, Csethiro Ceredin?”
The fact was she did not, and indeed never had since she had been fifteen or sixteen— but she had not found the humility to say as much to her grandmother.

Summary
Two days before the crash of the Wisdom of Choharo took the lives of the Emperor Varenechibel IV and his three sons, a letter arrived at the Untheileneise Court, hailing all the way from the Drazhadeise Manor in the west of Thu-Evresar. In it, was the reported death of Setheris Nelar: the cousin and guardian of Archduke Maia Drazhar.

Summary
A great number of Edreveise Revival historians owe a mighty debt indeed to the prolific correspondence of one woman: Csethiro Zhasan, wife of Edrehasivar VII Zhas. The 316th empress of the Ethuveraz was a prolific letter-writer, and her letters to her most regular correspondents — her four sisters, Emiro, Hesiriän, Iru and Saleheio; her close friend and sister in law, Vedero Drazhin; her husband, Edrehasivar VII; and later, her three children — are some of the most prominent primary sources about the court and the Drazhada in the early Edreveise Revival period.
