Noel’s mouth hung open as he slowly looked at the ceiling. Liam’s room was right above him. He couldn’t hear shit.
Before he knew what he was doing, he grabbed the largest book he could and dropped it. It hit the floor with a deep thump. Noel’s eyes stayed fixated on the screen.
After a few seconds of lag, Liam’s head jerked down, as if he heard.
Noel looked up. If the ceiling weren’t there, they’d be staring right at each other.
