Since then, Nicky has married and divorced, gotten worse and gotten better, but he's still filled with regret over how he left things with Joe. And now Joe's here, walking up to him and smiling. Nicky feels both dread and hope.

Summary
Prompto: a clumsy, geeky kid. Noctis: the sickly prince of a kingdom. Not the most obvious kids to become friends, but when Prompto treats Noctis as a boy and not a prince, Noctis warms to him and their friendship begins.
But theirs is not always a happy story. Loneliness, loss, and sicknesses plague them through every stage of their lives, and they must be strong for each other as well as for themselves. This is their story, from children to adults, and the journey they take in cementing a bond that will never be broken.
A sort-of retelling of Brotherhood episode 2, with lots of hurt/comfort added in, and taking Prompto's weight loss in a darker direction to an eating disorder.
Warnings: anorexia and mentions of bulimia. Please don't read if these are triggers for you.
