    Summary

Not everyone has a soulmate. Not everyone has a soulmark.

Lois Lane’s appeared at eighteen: three glowing circles, rare in their intensity, marking a soulmate so undeniably extraordinary that it seemed impossible to ignore.

When she met him, silver rings bloomed around her wrist the instant their eyes met, proving that this was indeed her match, and for the first time, Lois wanted nothing more than to burn the symbols off her skin.

The world saw destiny in her circles, and for years, she had believed it too, but now they felt more like shackles than signs of fate, of future.

Soulmarks never lie, yet Lois Lane was beginning to wonder if hers might be the first.

    Summary

Backstory for the new movie! Lois is the first to realize Clark's identity, as she has a gift for knowing faces. But why doesn't anyone else realize what's going on? And what does he want?

Part 1, Ch. 1-9 A complete backstory for the movie with it's own arc!
Part 2, Ch. 10-? Launching into the movie timeline with my own twist

::She hadn’t interacted with Superman very much by the time Clark got hired—just that one rescue when he stopped the runaway train, the Ocean Avenue Elevated. Lois saw it at once, but no one else did. It was madding and inexplicable.

Obviously investigation had to happen. Clark might seem like an all-American sweetheart of a guy, and Superman might seem to have a moral code, but Lois was very much in the “absolute power corrupts absolutely” camp of thought, and she was—dubious. If he was really so powerful, what was he doing for himself? What were his vices? How did he indulge? Nobody seemed to know, and that turned her from dubious to highly suspicious.

    Summary

At first, Lois is unconvinced. She’s been since the moment she flipped through his file. His résumé is riddled with vague location markers— Jarangpur, Nepal, Patagonia—and small-league writing credits. His work isn’t bad, per se— it’s just not memorable. Then, we have to talk about that web search. Seriously. The man might as well live under a rock for all she knows. She had expected, at the very least, a LinkedIn profile, but what she got instead was: “Clark Kent wins tractor pull at Smallville County Fair” — courtesy of the Smallville Gazette, population 47,000 (give or take a few cows), and whose website hasn’t been updated since 2015. As unredeemable proof was a photo of a grinning young man in flannel and what looks like an extremely offended chicken. No, she's not making that stuff up.

This is my take on Lois & Clark, which are, in my opinion, one of the greatest couples in fiction. It is mostly an office romance with lots of fluff and a bit of hurt/comfort and family drama. In other words, when Superman meets "Friends" and "the Office". Loosely inspired from the James Gunn movie.
