With cheesy pickup lines and loud laughter, unyielding physical affection even when Jungwon whines and tries to squirm away; Heeseung watches in silent awe as Jungwon melts, day by day, defenses lowering and smiles lingering when Riki continues to push the boundaries that Heeseung would’ve never dared to cross like they don’t even exist.

And so, Jay has never seen Jungwon sob. He’s seen Jungwon hurt, though. He’s seen Jungwon vulnerable. He’s seen enough to know that if Jungwon’s frustrations ever culminate into loud, sobbing tears, it’s a sign that the gold encasing around his heart has crumbled. For now, however, the casing remains. Jungwon stays gold.
